We won our semi-final without any problems with only Muzza going down to Keith Litmodon in 3 “how could you Muzz” and of course he carried the bags.

The finals were held at Royal Oak and we all went to support. Greg , Denis and myself stood down and the preferred team were ready to play, but the night wasn’t going to be as clean cut as we thought, Muzz lost his man badge first up losing in 4 , Dave run out of legs and tripped over his stomach and lost in 5 , John (Tulpy) downed his opponent in 4, oh that’s the first four points of the first game that is, he knocked his opponent to the ground with the racket to win 3/0 , always in the lime light that boy.

Len finished the night playing screw ball lobs and star jump volleys , literary messing with the guy’s head another 3/0 to us , we ended up taking the pennant out 9/6 , but undecided whether the knock out or the man badge loser should carry bags. Well done team, keep it up you old buggers and the squash.

Long time no Blog.

After a long build up to The Papakura Open, myself and the rest of the team needed a short break to get our lives back together. Our M5 team have managed to stay in M5 for the second round. Our first two incounters were against the two top teams who have dropped from M4. The first night against Devenport our man McLovin carried the bags after a 3/0 loss scoring only 8 points for 3 games. I think his name was George Costanza, a ex Navy boy I think Mclovin was a bit over come with this seamen. We lost that night 9/8 thanks to the rest of us pulling thru.
This week we played the top team Herne Bay and smashed them bro 11/4 , I carried the bags by losing in 5.
Sean and Shane both won in 3 and Tulpy out letted his opponent and won in 4 . Leanne actually pulled finger and convincingly won the fifth game but Christine didn't wake up until 6-0 down in the fifth then managed to fight back to 9 all . Both players had 3 hand outs for the match until Bruizer finally grabbed victory with that lethal back hand drive. (Thats her whole shot selection there). With Liz on court next and obviously desperate for alcohol after watching the last matchs she only took 20 minutes to win and 20 seconds to get to the bar, burp. Nicole was not so desperate and seems to be taking lessons from Shane in squash and bag carrying, although she had a five setter the result was not in her favor, looks like Nicole was on bags. Papakura won on the night 11-7 at least Nicole contributed not like someone else I know.

Masters 2. 26th May

Just a update on our progress , we won 12 - 2 against Silverdale putting us in the 1 spot by 8 points.
Once again they dropped me in it and made me play first but no probs I took that out 3/0. All I hear" Paul your on court 4" now I'm not making excuse's that I did go down in 5 , but I am looking for sympathy.
Muzza our most senior player was at his best for the first two, rested up in the third and won the forth.
Tulpy (who by the way would struggle to grow hair on his chin) well warmed up by now waiting for 2 matchs to pass donning all those sweet bands again ,he must have quite a collection.I hate to say it but he played some very high B grade drops to win the first 5 points in his game after that they turned very average and he won in 3, less said about that the better.
Len "Lenny" Brennen should of scootered all the way there , his oppontent was good for 3 points in the entire match , more or less gave up in the first game after the second rally, Len worked up a sweat in the sauna after the game.
As you may have gathered by now I was the "Bag man" I carried them with pride (again)
By the way thanks to Greg Hayhow for coming out and supporting.

Interclub Mens 05, May 11

The evening started on a humorous note with Captain Shane Blair kicking off play whilst wearing his wife's skirt. Shane seemed to take his game to new a low and just needed a blouse for the full transformation. Shane battled as best he could and at times struggled with no let calls against him as the referee decided a racquet tangled in his skirt didn't warrant any form of replay.

Next up Dennis ran his opponent into the ground in three short games levelling the game count.

Following Dennis came Tulpy dressed in his usual attire. Three head bands, four wrist bands, two knee straps and an elbow brace to boot and of course all in different colours. Again Tulpy despatched the opponent in three games claiming a variation of speed was a contributing factor to his strategy. Tulpy attempted a drop shot during the game that almost made the tin - we wonder if this is the speed variation he was referring to?

Lastly McLovin played long time rival Nick Robinson. Nick won the first two with McLovin fighting back for the following two games. Nick quickly dealt to McLovin in the last with his double handed boasting. The final game count being 8 / 6 to Papakura.

Bag bearer - Shane Blair as pictured complete with skirt.

Mens 13's Good Win

Our mens 13 team had a good win on Monday 2nd round. This didn't start to well with Leon the captain going down in 3, not executing his shots to well and missing opportunities on strokes with no let calls made, Next up David Moore winning in 3 playing a some newbie in his second only match “take them when you get them”. Kevin Boyle’s coaching is paying off with winning in 4, but his opponent thought he was in dodge ball arena no lets in that game either I heard. Last of all our up and coming junior Shane Stanley , playing high percentage controlled squash winning in 5 against a player over 200 points higher , his patience through out the game paid off he will reap some points here. As for who was on the bags that night looks like the captain again.

Great Website

As my first on line official blog ,( the last one being a test and oh just to let you know who should of carried the bags the other night) like I was saying as my first blog I'd like to thank Robert Love , Greg Amer and Michelle Amer for the countless hours they have done to create our new website, they started this project months ago and quietly worked behind the scenes. This was all done through volunteered time, I think they need there team to carry there bags for the rest of the year, well maybe this winter season anyway, for the next few games at least, next week will do.Cheers Guys

Mens 5 interclub Bag man

The night started poorly with me going down 3 zip, I must say my oponent was half my age, no excuses but, next up was the captain, Mr Shane Blair he didn't set a good example either going down same as me, but less points my I add and also knowing I was out of contention for bag duty, next up was Mr Cornwall a slow starter and good middle game but lasped at the end , still lost in 5, best so far. Last up our secret weapon at 4, McLovin himself (Thats Rob Love for the newbies) he was on fire, winning in 3, he pulled off some unbliveable shots that even Tulpy would be proud of.Which brings me to the whole reason I started this , Shane was our biggest loser ( so was Tulpy by the way the next night but in 5, no disgrace there) but since he came with the Wife,(Shane that is) he left early and didn't carry the bags, "What exmaple is this captian showing?" How is the rest of the team to deal with this, John done his duty, whats up with the wife thing, is this not a team effort, this boy needs to be made accountable Boys tell me what are we to do?
