Papakura MS2 Winners 2010

Over the past 14 weeks the team endured some grilling matches to finish top of the table and qualify for the semi finials.

We all had turns on the bags and believe it or not even Len carried them once, I think between Dennis, John and myself we had our fair share of that duty. We won our semi-final without any problems with only Muzza going down to Keith Litmodon in 3 “how could you Muzz” and of course he carried the bags.

The finals were held at Royal Oak and we all went to support. Greg , Denis and myself stood down and the preferred team were ready to play, but the night wasn’t going to be as clean cut as we thought, Muzz lost his man badge first up losing in 4 , Dave run out of legs and tripped over his stomach and lost in 5 , John (Tulpy) downed his opponent in 4, oh that’s the first four points of the first game that is, he knocked his opponent to the ground with the racket to win 3/0 , always in the lime light that boy.

Len finished the night playing screw ball lobs and star jump volleys , literary messing with the guy’s head another 3/0 to us , we ended up taking the pennant out 9/6 , but undecided whether the knock out or the man badge loser should carry bags. Well done team, keep it up you old buggers and the squash.

Long time no Blog.

After a long build up to The Papakura Open, myself and the rest of the team needed a short break to get our lives back together. Our M5 team have managed to stay in M5 for the second round. Our first two incounters were against the two top teams who have dropped from M4. The first night against Devenport our man McLovin carried the bags after a 3/0 loss scoring only 8 points for 3 games. I think his name was George Costanza, a ex Navy boy I think Mclovin was a bit over come with this seamen. We lost that night 9/8 thanks to the rest of us pulling thru.
This week we played the top team Herne Bay and smashed them bro 11/4 , I carried the bags by losing in 5.
Sean and Shane both won in 3 and Tulpy out letted his opponent and won in 4 . Don't mind being on the bags for that result.

M05 results - 1st June

M05 played their last Interclub game at Henderson and it proved to be an eventful night.  First up Captain Shane Blair got away to a slow start however when his shoes heated up the stench dealt a crippling blow to his opponent with Shane winning 3/1.

Next up was Mr Cornwall and to his dismay he found his man badge was on the line.  Despite a pretty good effort Blair was chopped in three quick games.

Never mind Man badge has gone to a very hand Henderson woman.  Following this Sean took to the court and after a fiery 4 games he was the victor 3/1.  Next up McLovin played a very skilful junior and went down 3/1.

Final score 8/7 to Henerson leaving Papakura M05 running third in the division.  Lastly if anyone comes across Blairs man badge please return it directly.  Bag man pictured in action.

Bags, No not the team members, its who's carrying them W1 1st June

Leanne and Christine were first on the courts, both decided to win the first two games then sleep for the next two(I think thats called rest games) . Leanne actually pulled finger and convincingly won the fifth game but Christine didn't wake up until 6-0 down in the fifth then managed to fight back to 9 all . Both players had 3 hand outs for the match until Bruizer finally grabbed victory with that lethal back hand drive. (Thats her whole shot selection there). With Liz on court next and obviously desperate for alcohol after watching the last matchs she only took 20 minutes to win and 20 seconds to get to the bar, burp. Nicole was not so desperate and seems to be taking lessons from Shane in squash and bag carrying, although she had a five setter the result was not in her favor, looks like Nicole was on bags. Papakura won on the night 11-7 at least Nicole contributed not like someone else I know.

Masters 2. 26th May

Just a update on our progress , we won 12 - 2  against Silverdale putting us in the 1 spot by 8 points.
Once again they dropped me in it and made me play first but no probs I took that out 3/0. Now Mr Greg Hayow played second and we think he came straight from the gay mardi gras, his shirt certainly helped him win in 4. Denis with all his aches and pains managed to pull off 3/1 victory. Dave Youngs first away game this season was nearly defualted with Spencer turning up very late for Dave to di-spence of him 3/0. Sac was our bagman which served him right as he was full of himself on the way to the game saying " Knighty will be on the bags again tonight".
Just for you sac "\/".

M13 21st May

Well well well, scaning thru our teams efforts for the past week of interclub, what I found maybe something of embrassment and not worth a mention, but what the hell I will.
What might of started as a cold winters interclub night in Papakura ended up as a even bleaker night for the boys in mens 13. Ken Nightingale down 3 zip 16 points. David Moore down 3 zip 15 points Kevin Boyle down 3 zip 15 points. Scott Baird down 3 zip 7 points.Four big eggs.
So you may be thinking Scott's the bagman here but what David is keeping mum about is that his opponent was a woman so I reckon divide his score by at least 3 and he ends up on 5 now these the bagman.
Sorry David couldn't help myself.

Southern Jets Interclub

Papakura juniors started there Sunday morning interclub on the 9th of May hosting one of the three Franklin Jets teams and of course we cleaned up, I don't have the finer details for that day to post , winning on the day is about as fine as it gets.
After a 2 week break they were off to Franklin on the 23rd of May to play another Franklin team. With the promotion of Luke Luijten up to the F grade competition (which is also played on the same mornings and venues as the Jets) Chanel Gomez has now taken on the number one spot, this is a tough postion to fill,he ended up losing but played very well, playing at the top is always tough.  Joshua Smith also had a tough game and lost by a narrow margin. Bekkie Easton seems to be holding up the team by winning comfortably. James Biggelaar was also in good form and won as well. Will post the scores when they come out. Keep up the good work guys and gals and see you at training.
